Ollie Bell
Hadnot
May 29, 1936 — Dec 23, 2024
Jasper
In loving memory of Ollie Hadnot, we say goodbye to a remarkable woman who lived life to the fullest. She was very compassionate, a loyal friend, and overall, a humble person. The memories of her will live on in the hearts of all who knew her.
Ollie was born May 29, 1936, in Farrsville, Texas. She was the eldest of five children born to Dizie (pronounced "Dozie") and Pearlie Levette.
Ollie graduated from Mattox School in Jamestown, Texas. She attended Moore Chapel C. M. E. and later joined Peaceful Rest Baptist Church under the pastorate of Reverend Daniel Stafford where she remained loyal and faithful until her health began to decline. She was a great seamstress. She made clothing by hand for her family and community. She enjoyed cooking and spending time with her family.
Early on, she worked at Ralston Purina Poultry Plant. Before her declining health and retirement, she worked at Owens Illinois, which was later known as Louisiana Pacific.
Ollie was preceded in death by her parents, Dizie and Pearlie Levette; husband, Arthur Hadnot; four children, Arthur Ray Hadnot, Ray Charles Levette, Rosa Marie Levette, and Pearlie Mae Hadnot; two brothers, Albert Lee Levette and Albert McCall; one sister, Rose Lane; and four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Ollie Bell leaves a life and legacy of memories to be cherished by her children, Flora (Duane), Ronda, James (Lawanda), Joe (Lillie), Jimmy (Marie), Charles (Celia), and Sherman (Michele); two sisters, Ola Joseph and Nancy Hartsfield; two brothers-in-law, Willie Lane, Sr., and Nonah Hadnot; special daughter-in-law, Laura Levette; twenty seven grandchildren, twenty four great-grandchildren, and five great-great-grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and close friends.
