Paul Wood was born on April 30, 1973, to the late Marcleen and Lester Wood, Sr., in Newton County, Texas. He was the tenth of fifteen children. He was a 1991 graduate of Newton High School. After graduating, he met and married Ilisteania Jones and moved to San Antonio. To this union, two children were born, Paul and Shameka.

Paul accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior and was united with Armstrong CME during his childhood. He always included God in his daily activities. Paul faced many challenges, but his faith in God remained strong.

Paul enjoyed writing his own rap music, making people laugh, and spending time with his kids and family. He also shared a close bond and enjoyed hanging out with Reggie, Mike, Ezekiel, Ceasar, Cartrell, and Pete.

Paul answered the call of God on Wednesday, December 24, 2025. He was preceded in death by his parents, Marcleen Celestine Wood and Lester Wood, Sr.; grandmother, Odelia Hill; and siblings, Bo Wood, Sr., and Josephine Scott.

Paul will be remembered by his wife, Ilisteania Wood; son, Paul Alexander Wood (Talia Acosta); daughter, Shameka Wood; siblings, Robert Earl Holmes (Diana), Rose Mary Waton (Nelson Jr.), Lizzie Dearmon (Willie), Lester Wood, Jr. (Carrie), Henry Wood (Shelby), Lisia Wood, Robert Lee Wood (Sharron), Mary Lee Wood, Marcleen Rena Wood, Odelia Wood, Linda Wood (James McLemore), and Betty Wood Shankle (LaThomas Shankle); and many nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
