Obituary

Pauline Adams Chaney was born on February 15, 1943, to John Wesley and Katie D Smith Adams in Jamestown, Newton County, Texas. She was the ninth of eleven children, the baby girl. When she was about a year old the family relocated to Jasper, Texas to what later became known as the Pineywoods Community. This is where Pauline spent her childhood and would later build a home to raise her own children. Pauline was a graduate of J.H. Rowe High School in Jasper, Texas. After graduation, Pauline worked in various jobs in the healthcare industry before her retirement. She spent her retirement along with her husband of 40 years, Ogar "Hack" Chaney until his passing, enjoying her family, watching Westerns and home improvement shows, or just relaxing on the front porch.

Pauline accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior early in life. She was baptized, filled with the Holy Spirit and lived the Christian life she talked about. She was truly a scholar of God's Word. She was a longtime and faithful member of Adams Chapel True Light Holiness Church. She was currently serving as the church secretary and Sunday School Superintendent. In the past, she also served as the Women's Mission President and Adult Sunday School Teacher.

Pauline loved her family and friends wholeheartedly. You were always guaranteed to be greeted with a signature smile and warm hug! She especially loved being a Wife, Mother, Mama, Aunt, and Sister. She was the second Momma and surrogate Mama to many. She never withheld her love or wisdom from anyone that sought it.

Pauline was preceded in death by both of her parents; her husband, Ogar "Hack" Chaney; three sisters, Abella Young, Mertie Harris, and Joy Clursky; three brothers, Ertie Adams, Elder Roy Adams Sr., and Bobby Joe Adams.

Pauline will be remembered with love by her surviving family members: daughter, Talove Chaney of Jasper, TX; sons, John Paul Adams (Yvonne) of Waco, TX, Paul Anthony Adams of New Braunsfel, TX, Cheyenne Adams (Nora) of San Antonio, TX, Terry Adams of Waco, TX, Darrell Chaney (Patty) of Orange, TX, and Patrick Chaney, Sr. (Amanda) of Alabama; daughter-In-love, Alma Guzman of San Antonio, TX; grandchildren, Bradley (Chandra), Deboni, Stefan (Raven), Stephone (Tamarica), Adriana (Reggie), Andre, Deronica, Kendra, Briana, Shambreeca, David, Tasha (Preston), Patrick Jr, Kaicey, and Isaiah; great-grandchildren, Samarji, Amare, Chrislyee, Nevaeh, Quest, Ryleigh, and Christian; God-daughters, Angela Coleman Hughes (Lawrence) of Frisco, TX, and LaDonna Coleman Smith (Darryl) of Houston, TX; God-son, Joshua Hadnot-Harris (Taylor) of Jasper, TX; her Suga Babies, Jaidyn, Amelia, Joshua Grady, Parker, and Noah; sisters, Cleothra Hafford, Vance Adams, Roxana Bootie, and Dorothy Coleman all of Jasper TX, and Lucille Scott of DeSoto, TX; brother, John D Adams of Jasper, TX; sisters-in-love, Charlene Younger of Houston, TX and Other Chaney of Newton, TX; brother-in-love, Curtis Chaney (Ida Mae) of Newton, TX, and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives, and friends.
