Raymanda Hafford
Rigsby
Jun 22, 1982 — May 11, 2025
Raymanda Marnetrice Hafford-Rigsby was born on June 22, 1982, to Raymond and Peadrice Hafford. She was born in Galveston, Texas, and lived in Jasper, Texas until the time of her passing. At a young age, she united with Dixie Missionary Baptist Church and was baptized under the leadership of Pastor Norsworthy. In her early years, she attended school in the J.I.S.D. She attended Parnell Elementary School and J. H. Rowe during her elementary years, and later Jasper Middle School. She was part of the graduating class of 2000 from Jasper High School. All classmates will tell you that if you had Raymanda as a friend, you had a great friend. She was charismatic and very driven to succeed. She never met a stranger.
She would later meet and then marry the love of her life, her husband, Adrian Rigsby. To their union, three children were born. They united with Moss Hill Missionary Baptist Church, Woodville, Texas under the leadership of her father-in-law, Pastor Donald Rigsby. This is where they currently hold membership.
Following high school, Raymanda went on to pursue a career in education by teaching and coaching. She studied at Remington College, obtaining her Bachelor and then her Master's in Criminal Justice. She received many training hours and credits to become the recognized educator that we know her to be today. She has worked for the Jasper Independent School District for over 18 years with the motto "No student left behind." She has done so generously with the love in the field and the faithfulness to excel. Raymanda was a giving heart and such a loving spirit. These characteristics truly showed through and through in the profession that she chose to pursue.
Both of her parents, Raymond and Peadrice Hafford, have served in the district for many years. Her husband is a former employee as well. She taught at junior high and coached at both the middle school and high schools. All her coworkers and her students could attest when we say she had the most beautiful smile that could light up a room. Her warmth and loving personality were contagious as well as courageous. Her love and care for people and seeing the students succeed truly motivated others. She made everyone around her better. All students who were taught or coached under her guidance grew for the better. Mrs. Raymanda Hafford-Rigsby was a willing, helping hand in all she did. Raymanda spent much time giving back to the community and serving the community inside and outside her time at work. In the words of Superintendent John Seybolds: "Her loss is felt deeply across our entire Jasper family."
Raymanda was family-oriented and had a great passion and love for her family. She loved spending time with them. Her favorite pastimes were family gatherings, traveling, being with her husband and each of her kids at their school events, and spending time at home. Raymanda was the most incredible wife, the most loving mother, beautiful daughter, caring sister, friend, and family member one truly could ever have hoped for, and she truly will be missed. She is gone but she will never be forgotten.
Raymanda was preceded in death by her paternal grandfather, Willie Ray Hafford, and maternal grandparents, Bee Middleton, Sr., and Nora Lee Middleton.
She leaves to cherish her memories: her husband of 12 years, Adrian Rigsby; daughters, Anndryan Rigsby, Adrana Rigsby, Amyree Rigsby, Ashanti Rigsby, and Lashanti Rigsby; sons, Aaryron Rigsby and Adrian Rigsby, Jr.; parents, Raymond and Peadrice Hafford; siblings, Renata Cooper (Jose), Tanika Hafford, Leslie Middleton, and Raymond Hafford, Jr. (Britney); paternal grandmother, Charlene Hafford; father and mother-in-law, Donald and Anne Rigsby; sister-in-law, Thalia Rigsby; brother-in-law, Adam Rigsby; nieces, Rehba and Railey Cooper, and Janora Hafford; nephew, Raymond Hafford III; great niece, Caelei Rae Turner; and a host of family, friends, extended family, and co-workers.
