On Tuesday, July 18, 2023, Raymon Arthur Bluiett, Jr., departed this life for his eternal home. Raymon Jr. was born on July 15, 1964, to Raymon A. Bluiett, Sr., and Joyce M. Diggles Bluiett in Jasper, Texas. He was their first born and was quickly nicknamed "Rascal" by his paternal grandfather. He was a bit mischievous and his grandparents loved it. He joined Lily of the Valley Baptist Church at an early age. Raymon attended Kirbyville public schools and was a graduate of the class of 1983. He was a standout basketball player for the Wildcat team. He continued his education at Tyler Junior College in Tyler, Texas, then Lamar University in Beaumont, Texas.
Raymon Jr. later joined the U.S. Army, serving 8 years. He was a Desert Shield/Desert Storm veteran and served with the 24th Infantry Division during the Persian Gulf War. Raymon Jr. lived in Houston but loved returning home as often as he could to help his dad with farming/ranching and to eat his mom's cooking. He loved sports and was an awesome big brother to his sisters and younger brother.
He leaves to cherish his memories: loving parents, Pastor Raymon Bluiett, Sr., and Joyce Diggles Bluiett of Kirbyville, TX; two sons, Darien T. Bluiett of Jasper, TX, and Joshua Griffin of Tyler, TX; two sisters, Valerie J. Russell of Ocean Springs, MS, and Rebecca L. Hawkins of Irving, TX; one brother, Andrew (Chantele) V. Bluiett of Pflugerville, TX; eight grandchildren; two nephews and a great-niece; special friend, Barbara Huston of Houston, TX; and a host of uncles, aunts, cousins, other relatives, and friends.
