Obituary

On Saturday, November 18, 2023, Rosalin Sch'vet Lewis passed away. She was welcomed into the arms of Jesus, her Savior, where she is now safe.

Rosalin was born on August 14, 1999, in Jasper, Texas. Schwanda (Terrance), Scott, and Lester (Martha) Lewis were her parents. She was fortunate to have Shantelle Martin and Shannon (Troy) Hafford as her loving Godparents.

From a young age, Rosalin was active in the church and dedicated to doing the Lord's work. Her first church home was God's Way Family Community Church, led by Pastor James C. Walker III, in Houston, TX. When she moved to Jasper, TX, she became a member of Oak Hill CME. There, she joined the youth choir and became one of the first praise dancers for Oak Hill CME. As Rosalin grew in her relationship with God, she advanced her calling and became the Sunday School Teacher for the primary children. Outside of her work for the Lord, she was a cheerleader for Jasper High School, Class of 2017. In her senior year, she co-founded Stunning Stars Cheer & Dance with her mother and served as the Head Cheer Coach for Jasper Youth Cheer.

Rosalin was a loving and compassionate person who enjoyed cheering, dancing, coaching, singing, and traveling with her family. Most of all, she loved and adored her children. Her babies were her world, and anyone who witnessed her gazing into their faces was blinded by the pure joy radiating from her. Rosalin wanted nothing more than for her children to have a wonderful life.

She was preceded in death by her great-grandmother, Evelina Williams; two grandfathers, Steve Lewis, Sr., and Harold Scott, Sr.; and a cherished uncle, Harold Scott, Jr.

Rosalin leaves behind: her children, Kaelum Rachal, Aria Johnson, and Alakai Johnson; parents, Schwanda (Terrance), Scott and Lester (Martha) Lewis; grandparents, Jacqueline (Charles) Beatty and Betty Scott; great grandparents, Leo & Mildred Lewis; siblings, Lester, Frederick, Jak'keith, Le'Daveon, Raelyn, Tia Tiara, and Ta'Leah; aunts and uncles, Stephanie (Andre), Lynette (Bertel), Steve, Jr., Saybree Evans, Jhonnie, Geraldine, Danielle, and Cedric; and a host of godsiblings, cousins, great-aunts and uncles, friends, and a host of nieces, nephews.
