Sam Ester Bean was born May 5, 1935, to Esker "Bud" Adams and Creola Lockett Adams. She departed this life on January 29, 2020.

Sam accepted Christ at an early age and was a lifelong member of Pilgrim Rest Missionary Baptist Church. She later graduated from Call High School and attended Prairie View University.

In 1955, she married her soulmate, Elmer Lee Bean, and they raised three sons: Elmer "Jim" Bean, Edward "Lil Brother", who preceded her in death, and Garry Bean (Denise) of Katy. Sam and Elmer had seven grandkids: Stacey Shoulders (Pan) of Baton Rouge, Korey Jackson (Channa) of Beaumont, Quanisha Hubbard of Newton, Landon Bean of Katy, Taylor Bean of Katy, Trey Hagan of Silsbee, and Lauren Morgan of Beaumont and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends.

Funeral service will be Saturday, February 8, 2020 at 11:00 AM, at the Pilgrim Rest Baptist Church, 105 Martin Luther King St., Kirbyville, Texas. Viewing will be held 10:00 AM – 11:00 AM prior to service. Interment will follow at the West Green Lawn Cemetery in Kirbyville, Texas under the direction of Coleman's Mortuary in Jasper, TX.
