Obituary

Sharitta Denise Spikes was born on November 6, 1970, to the late Betty and Alfred Spikes, Sr., in Wiergate, Texas. She attended and graduated from Burkeville Junior-Senior High School in Burkeville, Texas. She worked numerous jobs throughout her lifetime, but the one she loved the most was working with the elderly and being around other people's kids and grandkids. She accepted Christ at an early age and attended Macedonia Baptist Church in Wiergate, Texas.

She was a very outspoken and caring person with a big heart. She was later married to the late Ray Watson on May 6, 1994, where, to this union, three children were born.

Sharitta Denise Spikes departed this life on Monday, September 22, 2025, leaving behind a void that can never be filled. Her passing was preceded by the loss of many loved ones, including her mother, Bettye Spikes; father, Alfred Spikes, Sr.; sisters, Alfreda Spikes and Charlotte Spikes; grandmother, Ester Lee Rhodes; grandfather, Willie H. Fowler; nephew, Tremon Spikes; stepson, Seandarius Hennington; aunts, Dorothy Mattox, Doris Faye Lewis, and Mary Joyce Odoms; and uncles, Larry Odoms, Harold Odoms, and Michael Charles Rhodes-Lewis.

She leaves to mourn her passing: three children, Tanisha Spikes of Newton, TX, Ray Spikes of Dallas, TX, and Chelsey Watson of Newton, TX; stepson, Seandarius Hennington; brothers, Alfred Spikes, Jr. (Veronica) of Jasper, TX, Timothy Spikes (Myeisha) of Beaumont, TX, and Jeffery Spikes of Tyler, TX; grandchildren, Elaysia Hartsfield, Edward Hartsfield III, Emanee Hartsfield, and Emori Hartsfield; niece, Haleigh Spikes; nephews, Kwame Spikes, Jacquise Spikes (Shakira), Ladarious Spearman, and Jeffon Spikes; great-nephews and -nieces, Jayden Spikes, Kaysen Spikes, Jayden Robinson, Harlee Spikes, and Jacilynn Spikes; three aunties, Gwendolyn Kiel, Debra Rhodes, and Tina Rhodes-Lewis; one uncle, Willie Rhodes-Lewis; best friend, Sonya Davis; and her special friend, Robert Kenebrew, along with a host of cousins, friends, and other associates.
