Obituary

Stephanie Michelle Citizen was born on November 23, 1968, in Beaumont, Texas, where she was raised by her loving parents, John Floyd Citizen, Sr., and Marylou Citizen. From an early age, she had a heart full of kindness, a giving spirit, and an unshakable love for family—qualities that would define her throughout her life.

She dedicated 24 years of hard work to Walmart, holding many positions throughout her career. Stephanie was more than just an employee; she was a familiar, welcoming face who made a lasting impact on her coworkers and customers. But Walmart wasn't just her workplace—it was also one of her favorite places to shop, where she was always on the hunt for a great bargain. Stephanie married Reggie Shaw, Sr., and together they built a beautiful, loving family. She was the devoted mother of Jamal Citizen, Terrance Shaw, Sr., Alisha Azeez, Regginique Shaw, Jasmine Kirks, and Reggie Shaw, Jr. Her family grew even more as she welcomed wonderful in-laws, Tobi Azeez (Alisha), Theresa Shaw (Regginique), Brantavian Wade (Jasmine), and Nina (Reggie Jr.). Her greatest joy in life was being a grandmother. She adored her grandchildren, Traviante, Xander, Xanovia, Jaylon, Kamrin, Terrance Jr., Deidrian, Feranmi, Erin, K'mari, Kingston, Maijor, Ka'Cee, and Wrylin. She loved each of them deeply, and they were the light of her life.

Family was everything to Stephanie. She shared a close bond with her brother, John Floyd "Johnboy" Citizen, Jr., and his wife, Kim Citizen. She never wanted to miss a single family event, making it a priority to be present for every celebration, big or small. She loved traveling, listening to music, and simply enjoying life with those she loved.

One of Stephanie's greatest triumphs was beating breast cancer—a testament to her strength, resilience, and unwavering faith. She faced life's challenges with courage and grace, always coming out stronger on the other side.

Stephanie had a heart that was always open. She made sure no one ever felt left out, always giving, always helping wherever she could. She had a way of making people feel seen, loved, and valued. Her passing leaves a void that cannot be filled, but the love she gave and the impact she made will remain forever. Her kindness, laughter, and selflessness will never be forgotten. She was a blessing to all who knew her, and her spirit will live on in the hearts of her family and friends.

Rest in peace, Stephanie Michelle Citizen. You were deeply loved, and your legacy of love, strength, and generosity will live on forever.
