Obituary

Tyler De'Shon Seastrunk was born on October 2, 2000, in Jasper, Texas, to Olee Seastrunk Jr. and Lashunda Elam. Tyler attended Newton High School, where he proudly participated in the band, and graduated with the Class of 2019. Following high school, he moved to Nacogdoches, Texas, where he attended Stephen F. Austin State University. He later transferred to Texas Southern University, where he was pursuing a Bachelor of Arts degree in English and was expected to graduate on May 8, 2026. Tyler dreamed of becoming an English professor, with a passion for education and inspiring others through learning.

Tyler was a loving son, devoted brother, caring uncle, cherished grandson, nephew, and loyal friend. Though quiet in nature, Tyler had a warm spirit and was a joy to be around. His gentle presence, kind heart, and genuine smile left lasting impressions on all who knew him. Tyler grew up attending Rigmaiden Chapel C.H.S., and later became a member of Genesis Abundant Life Church #2.

Tyler transitioned on April 24, 2026, in Houston, Texas, surrounded by his family, faith, and love. Before his transition, Tyler rededicated his life to Christ on April 18, 2026, finding renewed peace and strength in the Lord. Tyler was preceded in death by his grandfather, Olee Seastrunk Sr.

He leaves to cherish his precious memory: his mother, Lashunda Elam; his father, Olee Seastrunk Jr.; maternal grandparents, Charles Sr. and Juanita Elam; paternal grandparents, Ray and Martha Ervin; and his beloved siblings: Bryan Spikes, Demetrice Limbrick, Kedrin (Jeniqua) Seastrunk, Timisha (JaCorey) Shepherd, Terren Verrett, Tyel Seastrunk, Krishon Seastrunk, Deon Seastrunk, Tszehonna Seastrunk, Oleshihonna (Christopher) Flemons, Keyaun Seastrunk, Adrieunna (Robert Jr.) Booker, Teri Hunter, Donnay Brooks, Traedarion Elam, and Oliviya Alfred. He also leaves a host of nieces, nephews, uncles, aunts, cousins, extended family members, his bonus mom, Deidre Limbrick, and his cherished Texas Southern University friends.
