Mrs. Verna Brooks, daughter of the late Samuel and Rosa Lang, was born on June 3, 1920 in Shelbyville, Texas.

Verna attended public school in the town of Shelbyville, TX. At an early age, she professed her faith in Jesus at Indian Hill Baptist Church.

She was married in Holy Matrimony to Ohlice Brooks in the year of 1917. This union was blessed with 18 children.

Verna was preceded in death by her husband, Olice Brooks; her Mother, Rosa Lang; her Father, Samuel L. Lang, children; Washie Lee, Robert, Bertha, Vernon Olice, Linda Young, Charles Leon and five other children.

She leaves to cherish her memories: Samuel Brooks, Prentice (Nettie) Brooks, Billy Brooks, Bernadine Alexander, Olice Brooks Jr., Norma (James), Rosie (Robert), Elisha Brooks, 30 grandchildren, 71 great-grandchildren, 50 great-great grandchildren and a host of other dedicated family and friends.
