Obituary

Vivian Luvern Bennett, a phenomenal woman of faith, love, and grace, peacefully entered eternal rest on Sunday, September 7, 2025. Her homegoing celebration will be held on Saturday, September 13, 2025, in Magnolia Springs, Texas, officiated by Superintendent Jeffrey L. Adams Sr.

Born on March 23, 1944, to Charlie and Odessa Wright, Sister Vivian's life was a shining example of service, devotion, and unconditional love. She graduated from West Kirbyville High School and went on to study Social Work at Lamar University in Beaumont, Texas. On June 1, 1963, she united in marriage with Willard Bennett, and together they raised five children in a home filled with faith, love, and purpose.

A faithful servant of God, Vivian accepted Christ and was baptized at an early age. From her early days at Spring Hill Baptist Church to her many years at Call Community Center Church of God in Christ, she lived a life of devotion to her Savior. She served diligently in numerous ministries with humility, joy, and steadfast purpose. Professionally, she extended her care and compassion to the community through her work with Hardin County NDI, later known as Spindletop MHMR.

Vivian's unwavering faith, boundless love, and quiet strength touched everyone blessed to know her. She was a devoted wife, nurturing mother, caring grandmother, adored aunt, and loyal friend. Her legacy is measured not simply in years, but in the profound impact she made on her family, her church, and her community.

She leaves to cherish her memory: her beloved husband, Willard Bennett; children, Andre' (Rosita) Bennett, Betty (Eddie Sr.) Lasker, Michael Bennett, Cheryl (Earl Jr.) Wright, and Nick Bennett; grandchildren, Kasey Barnett, Kerri (James) Huynh, Brad Bennett, Korri Bennett, Christopher Bennett, Elise Lasker, Eddie Lasker Jr., Paris Bennett, Earl Wright III, Gavin Wright, Alayasia Bennett, and Michael Bennett Jr. She is also remembered by six great-grandchildren, as well as nieces, nephews, cousins, and a host of friends who will miss her deeply.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Charlie and Odessa Wright; her sister, Floradene Breed; her brothers, Charles E. Wright and Travis Wright; and many other loved ones who welcomed her home.

Vivian's life was a testimony of faith in action. Though she now rests from her labor, her works will follow her, and her love will continue to bloom in the lives of all those she touched.

"Well done, thou good and faithful servant... enter thou into the joy of thy Lord." – Matthew 25:21
