Walter Herbert McBride, Sr., was born on January 29, 1968, to Jimmy Lee and Darnell Spikes McBride; he was the sixth of nine siblings.

Walter was a graduate of Burkeville High School, class of 1986. He accepted Christ at an early age and was a member of the Faith Temple Church of Jasper, Texas. On April 14, 1990, Walter Herbert McBride and Delories Hadnot were married; to this union, three children were born, Whitney, Walter, Jr., and William.

He had a great sense of humor and a heart of gold. He always had a smile on his face. Walter enjoyed fishing, working, playing dominos, and best of all, being a loving, devoted grandfather. He worked numerous jobs and was currently employed as a fire watch in construction.

Walter was preceded in death by his father, Jimmy Lee McBride; mother-in-law, Darkes Kenebrew-Galloway; and goddaughter, Jalia Franklin.

Walter is gone, but will never forgotten. He leaves to cherish his memories: his loving wife, Delories McBride; mother, Darnell McBride; fathers-in-laws, William Galloway and Van Skinner; daughter, Whitney McBride; sons, Walter McBride, Jr., and William McBride; godson, Ka'son Adams; brothers, Jimmie McBride, James Curtis McBride, Willie Ray, and Gregory McBride; sisters, Lillian Holmes, Alene McBride, Letha McBride, and Sharon McBride; uncles, Robert McBride, Gene Howard McBride, and Herbert Spikes; aunts, Martha Jane Irvin and Shirley Steele; and a host of coworkers, nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
