Obituary

WILLIAM CLOY LAND, lovingly known as "Wren," was born on August 7 in Newton County, Texas, to the late Cloy William Land and Willie Dean Land. From a young age, he was active in the local faith community, attending Jamestown Methodist, Baptist, and Sanctified churches.

He received his early education in Jasper, Texas, and graduated from Burkeville High School. Shortly after graduation, William enlisted in the United States Navy, where he served honorably before receiving an honorable discharge.

Following his service, he relocated to California, where he met and later married the love of his life, Paulette Rein, on June 24, 1989. Together, they welcomed their daughter, Mikayla Land, and beloved pet, Binny. The family later settled in Minnesota, where William worked in retail management for over 30 years.

William had a big personality and an even bigger heart. Known as the family jokester, he loved bringing laughter into every room he entered. He was a proud and devoted Dallas Cowboys fan and cherished every moment spent with his family and friends.

William departed this life on June 22, 2025, at his home in Fort Worth, Texas.

He leaves to cherish his memory: beloved daughter, Mikayla "Binny" Land; brothers, Larry Land (Yvette) and Thomas Land; sisters, Darlene (Billy Hunter), Diane Chestnut, and Loretta Land (Phillip); a host of nieces and nephews whom he loved dearly—Gerund, Ced, Derick, Oshay, Larry Jr., Trent, Cheri, Sheena, Decamesha, Marissa, "Poochie," "Meece," Amaryse; and his cherished great-niece and right hand, Nova.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Cloy William and Willie Dean Land; brother, James Early Land; and many loved ones whose memories he carried in his heart.

William will be remembered for his laughter, his loyalty, his love for his family, and the joyful spirit he brought to all who knew him. He touched many lives and leaves behind a legacy of kindness, strength, and unconditional love.
