On December 3, 1960, Willie James Davis was born to the late Berdie Mae Davis and Leroy Snell in Wiergate, Texas.

Willie attended Burkeville ISD, where he was active in football, basketball, and track and field.
He graduated from Burkeville ISD in May 1979.

Willie worked in the lumber industry, logging industry, and truck driving industry until his health failed.

He departed this life on Saturday, June 12, 2021, in Dallas, Texas.

Willie was preceded in death by: his parents, Berdie Mae Davis and Leroy Snell; sister, Allinda LaCuir; brother, Kervin Davis; niece, Chaquita Moore; and grandson, Steven Braggs, Jr.

He leaves to cherish his memories: his sons, Marcus Lewis (Cassandra), Travis Moore (Francis), Edward Dean, and David Freeman; his daughters, Tina Moore, Tonikia Wilson (Douglas), Keeairrah Duncan, Chasity Davis, Christina Duncan, Gina Ensley, Shemeka Pea, and Barabara Davis; brothers, Jimmy Davis, Kenneth Davis, and Rodney Davis (Carolyn); sisters, Phyllis Brooks (Lawerence), Casaundra Butler, Kimberly Butler, Alicia Butler, and Laquandra Coutee (Glenn); aunt, Joyce Richard; 37 grandchildren; and a host of nieces, nephews, other family, and friends.
