Yvonne
Houston
Aug 16, 1973 — Jul 7, 2026
With heavy hearts yet grateful hearts, we celebrate the beautiful life of Yvonne Williams Houston, a loving mother, daughter, sister, grandmother, and friend. Yvonne's life was a reflection of faith, compassion, strength, and unconditional love for her family. She possessed a gentle spirit, a caring heart, and a willingness to help anyone in need. Her kindness, warm smile, and generous nature touched countless lives and will forever be remembered.
Yvonne Williams Houston was born on August 16, 1973, in Jasper, Texas, to Albert Williams, Jr., and Katie F. Williams. At an early age, she accepted Christ as her Lord and Savior and united with Westlake Baptist Church where she began a lifelong walk of faith. She attended Jasper High School and proudly graduated with the Class of 1991.
Following graduation, Yvonne dedicated more than ten years of faithful service to the Texas Department of Criminal Justice (TDCJ). She was admired for her dedication, strong work ethic, and compassionate spirit. Whether at work, at home, or in the community, Yvonne always found joy in helping others.
Her greatest happiness came from spending time with her family. She loved cooking for those she loved, making lasting memories with her children and grandchildren and filling every room with laughter and love. Her home was a place where everyone felt welcomed, encouraged, and cared for.
On Tuesday, July 7, 2026, Yvonne peacefully entered eternal rest. Although every possible medical effort was made to prolong her life, God's divine will prevailed. While her absence leaves an immeasurable void, we find comfort in knowing that she now rests safely in the loving arms of her Heavenly Father.
Yvonne was preceded in death by her father, Albert Williams, Jr.; brother, Rodney E. Williams; and beloved godson, Justin Scott, all of Jasper, Texas. She leaves to cherish her precious memories: her very special friend, Mario Cole; daughters, Chanthony Jones (Kendrick Sr.) and Toydacia Williams; sons, Roderick Williams (Kristen) and Darren Spikes; loving mother, Katie F. Williams of Jasper, Texas; sisters, LaShondra Williams of Houston, Texas, Ericka Williams-Napoleon of Jasper, Texas, and a special sister, Tamekia Young of Atlanta, Georgia; and brothers, Anthony Lewis and Kevin Williams, both of Jasper, Texas, and Albert Woods of Houston, Texas. She also leaves to cherish her memory: her beloved grandchildren, Yvijon Bush, Kelis Jones, Kennessey Jones, Kenzlyn Jones, Kendrick Jones, Jr., Ma'Kahlyn Hafford Williams, Keriuna Williams, Keylen Williams, Kemaj Williams, Aniya Spikes, Dailen Spikes, Lauren Smith, Zaria Smith, Ava Spikes, Asiya Spikes, and Kalani Garrett. Her legacy of love, faith, and family will continue to live on through each of them. She also leaves her cherished godchildren, Jeremy Scott, Darius Bronson, and J'veair Garland. She also leaves a host of loving family members and devoted friends, including Justina Branson, Tracey Fowler, Monica Williams, Juanita Bronson, Donna Scott, Kathy Wallace, Cassandra Warren, and Jessica Bronson, along with many other relatives, neighbors, coworkers, and friends whose lives were forever touched by her love and kindness.
Though Yvonne's earthly journey has ended, the love she shared, the wisdom she imparted, and the memories she created will remain forever in the hearts of those who loved her. Her beautiful smile, caring spirit, unwavering faith, and unconditional love will continue to inspire her family for generations to come.
